We left Hope at about 5pm yesterday. It was such a relief to finally be on the road, and to finally arrive here in Summerland. The trip was a little bit nerve wracking (not enough rope to securely attach the rooftop carrier) but after a few stops to make adjustments, we were fine.

Now I am housesitting for a few days, and then visiting for a couple more. We are enjoying the sunshine, the fan, the spray park, and the wading pool. Not to mention the mocha almond fudge ice cream I found in the freezer, and the sweet, sun-warmed raspberries on the vine in the yard. The hens all remind me of my chicken Hilda, who I was sad to give up, but has a very nice new home.

It feels so good to have nothing to do.
